Appointments

Seeing one of the Doctors

The surgery offers the following appointments with our GP’s or Advanced Nurse Practitioner’s:

1. Routine Appointments

Any non-urgent appointments can be booked in this way. You can book an appointment with a doctor up to 2 weeks in advance, and book an appointment with the doctor of your choice (however please note there may be a slightly longer wait if you request a particular doctor).

Please note: since the covid-19 pandemic, all initial routine appointments are via telephone call with the GP for best safety of our patients and staff. The GP will then make a clinical decision on whether a patient requires a physical examination, and has face to face appointments that they are able to book themselves.

2. Urgent Appointments

We have an allocated GP each day to deal with urgent healthcare needs for our patients that require emergency treatment/assessment on the same day. As with routine appointments, these are initially via telephone call, but face to face appointments can then be made where deemed appropriate by the GP. Our reception team have regular training with the GPs in order to navigate patients appropriately as to whether they require an urgent or routine appointment.

3. Test Results Call

All test results go directly to a GP who then makes a decision on whether the results require a telephone consultation with the patient. Where a consultation is required, patients will be contacted by the Practice and booked in for an appropriate date as advised by the GP, dependant upon urgency. Most results do not require an urgent telephone consultation and will be booked in for 2-3 weeks time.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. If we have a mobile number on your record you will receive a text message reminder which you can simply reply CANCEL to if no longer required.

Out Of Hours

If you need medical assistance before the Practice re-opens, but it is not an emergency, then please dial 1-1-1. The NHS 111 service is free from both landlines and mobiles.
